A short history of the houses

Today, La Abuela Celia rural houses are the result of joining two independent houses.

The first house (houses 2 and 3) was built by Celia and her husband about 100 years ago. Life in the Canary Islands and in Spain was not easy back then.

The couple lived mainly from farming and livestock, but it was not enough to get by, so grandfather, like so many Canarians at the time, had to emigrate to Cuba.

From there he sent the money needed to build the family home. Years later the second house (house 1) was bought; until recently it was used as a granary.
